Review: "Documentary film about the highly inventive Danish stage director Kirsten Dehlholm and her internationally acclaimed performance laboratory Hotel Pro Forma. The film features generous extracts from the audiovisually stunning performance of War Sum Up, as well as in-depth interviews and scenes from rehearsals in Copenhagen, Denmark and in Riga, Latvia. ... "War Sum Up" is a multi-dimensional piece of musical theatre on the nature of war, conceived and directed by Kirsten Dehlholm. It brings together classical Japanese Noh theatre and contemporary manga, an original score of contemporary classical music, British chamber pop and electronic soundscapes, intertwined with a complex visual stage imagery. Performed world wide, including at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in 2014. The production is a unique collaboration between leading European artists in the music, fashion and stage arts: the creative team includes Latvian contemporary classical composer Santa Ratniece, the British performance and pop group The Irrepressibles, the French composer and electronic sound artist Gilbert Nouno and the Latvian Radio Choir, conducted by Kaspars Putnins, as well as the internationally awarded Danish fashion designer Henrik Vibskov. Stage lighting is created by Jesper Kongshaug, one of the most distinguished lighting designers in Scandinavia." -- Web 29 media
