However, the Lilac Fairy alleviates the curse, so that Aurora will not die, but fall into a deep sleep from which she can only be wakened by a Prince's kiss one hundred years later. On her sixteenth birthday Aurora pricks her finger on a spindle given to her as a present from Carabosse. A spell is cast on the palace and everyone falls asleep. Led by the Lilac Fairy, Prince Florimund finds Aurora and wakes her with a kiss. Aurora and Prince Florimund are married with the blessing of the Lilac Fairy and many fairy tale characters.
