Summary: "These resource discs contain two demonstration rhythmics lessons with a group of children of mixed age and ability. The lessons are taught by Joan Pope and Sandra Nash on consecutive days at the Sydney winter school 2006. This resource provides a unique opportunity to observe two very different ways of approaching a lesson with the same group of children while also creating access to a wide variety of activities designed by experienced teachers. In addition to the creative activities, the classes and discussions demonstrate and explore more general classroom issues such as social relations, use of space, how to form groups and how to support the children who are finding an activity difficult. The discussions took place after each class with Karin Greenhead and the students who were attending the course. In two sequences filmed in Manchester at the Royal Northern College of Music with trainee teachers, Karin Greenhead teaches improvising for children's rhythmics and activities for developing use of space." -- Contenidor
